Paediatric Snippets

Last month’s BMJ had a cautionary tale from a junior doctor about the misery of being ‘piggy in the middle’ when balancing the management strategies of different consultants in the same firm.

It is also humbling in so far as the EWTD does not allow much direct observation of the trainees we are meant to appraise, and sometimes we run the risk that we may give a mediocre overall assessment for someone who deserves better.

Communication between colleagues seems to be the only way to avoid these pitfalls…
